Glossary
The following definitions apply specifically to Minolta Color PagePro
Ex Printers.
Bitmap font
A font in which the character images are defined by bit maps. With
bitmapped fonts, a separate set of definitions is required for each
point size. For example, Times 10 point and Times 12 point are
considered separate fonts. See also Scalable fonts.
Black Printing
There are two Black Printing options that you can select from:
Glossy and Non-glossy. The Glossy option generates a natural
sheen to the black areas of graphic images.
Brightness
The lightness or darkness of an image. Decreasing brightness
darkens the overall image. Increasing brightness lightens the
overall image.
CMY
Cyan, magenta, and yellow. These color toners are used to create
the subtractive system array of printed colors.
ColorSync
A Macintosh-based system that is designed to adjust the colors of
an image that are output by a printer (or other device) so that they
closely resemble their onscreen appearance.
Default
A setting automatically used when you or your application
software do not make a selection. The settings that are in effect
when you turn on or reset the printer are called power-on defaults.
See also Factory default.
Drum
The part of the printer mechanism where the image is formed.
