CMYK simulation
There are several print option settings that affect output when printing
press proofs or simulations. These options affect CMYK data only.
The CMYK Simulation setting specifies the offset press standard or
other color gamut that you want to simulate.
The CMYK Simulation setting you should specify depends on the
press standard for which the CMYK data was separated. For example,
for images that were separated for SWOP, a standard of specifications
for separations, proofs, and color printing, choose SWOP as the
CMYK Simulation setting. For images that were separated for a
Japanese standard of specifications for separations, choose DIC; for a
European standard of specifications, choose Euroscale. For images
that were separated using a custom separation (such as a device-
specific separation or a separation produced with an ICC-profile),
choose None as the CMYK Simulation setting.
Grayscale
—Use this option for printing grayscale CMYK data. If
you print RGB data with the Grayscale option, the data is converted to
CMYK without using a custom CRD; instead, a generic color
conversion is performed. Photoshop RGB images saved in EPS
format, however, may activate color rendering dictionaries even if the
Grayscale option is selected.
Swatch color matching
When you use applications that allow you to specify color as CMYK
data, swatch color matching allows you to match color output from
presses or other printers. Reference pages of CMYK data and
PANTONE colors are provided on the Color PagePro Ex Printer
Drivers CD-ROM. By choosing a color from one of these pages, and
specifying the CMYK percentages shown beside the color from your

fying a target device profile with a color management system such as
ICM or ColorSync.
