When the manual exposure setting is at the central indication, no image of step no. 1 of a Kodak Gray
Scale should be produced on the copy, but a faint image of step no. 2 should be produced.

This adjustment should be made only after completing the “Adjustment of Exposure Level in the
Auto Exposure Mode” and “Adjustment of the Aperture Blades”.

If the setting has been changed in this adjustment, be sure to make the “adjustment of exposure
level in the Auto Exposure mode”.

Call the Tech. Rep. mode menu to the screen.

to show the “Tech. Rep. Choice 1” menu on the screen.

Place the Kodak Gray Scale lengthwise, face
down, and at the center on the Original Glass.
Place a sheet of pure white A3 or 11”
17” pa-
per over it and then lower the Original Cover.
2.
Set the copier into the Manual Exposure mode
and set the exposure setting to the central or
fifth indication (EXP5). Make about 3 copies
using A3 or 11”
17” paper (so that the PC
Drum sensitivity stabilizes). Then, check that
the third copy meets the requirement given
above.
*If the image density is outside the specifica-
tions, make the following adjustment.
