WARNING
•
The responsible hospital or institution shall carry out all cleaning and
disinfection procedures specified in this chapter.
•
Be sure to shut down the system before cleaning the equipment.
•
Non-medical equipment does not provide the same level of protection
against electrical shock. Do not touch the patient and any part of non-
medical equipment at the same time. Some examples of non-medical
equipment are laser printers and nonmedical computers.
•
Avoid use of cleaners, materials or chemicals that may damage device
surfaces, labels, or cause equipment failures.
•
Keep your equipment and accessories free of dust and dirt. To avoid damage
to the equipment, follow these guidelines:
◆
Always dilute according to the manufacturer’s instructions or use lowest
possible concentration.
◆
Do not immerse any part of the device into liquid. Do not pour liquid onto
the equipment or accessories.
◆
Do not allow liquid to enter the case and the device interior.
•
Never use abrasive materials (such as steel wool or silver polish), or erosive
cleaners (such as acetone or acetone-based cleaners).
•
If liquid has accidentally entered the system or its parts, shut down the
system and have the device serviced by authorized service personnel.
•
Remove the equipment from use if liquid is spilled on the equipment or
accessories. Contact your service personnel.
•
When cleaning, avoid the NIBP connector and other connectors.
