Modulator/Encoder BNC 1 Connector The 1 ASI DS3/E3 75
ohm BNC female connector provides ASI or DS3/E3 inputs.
Modulator/Encoder BNC 3 Connector The 3 ASI SMPTE 75
ohm BNC female connector provides ASI or SMPTE310 inputs.
Modulator/Encoder DB-9 Rear Panel RS232/485 Connector
The RS232/485 DB-9 female connector provides connections for
either RS232 or RS485 operation.
Modulator/Encoder DB-9 SUM ALARM Connector The SUM
ALARM DB-9 female connector provides summary alarm data
for common faults and events.
Modulator/Encoder BNC VIDEO Connector The 75 ohm BNC
female VIDEO connector receives the analog video input to the
unit. The ASI output of the Encoder is connected internally to
the ASI 2 input of the Modulator.
Modulator/Encoder DB-9 AUDIO A and B Connectors The
AUDIO A and B DB-9 male connectors receive analog audio
inputs.

Connectors
Connectors contained on the Demodulator/Decoder
configuration of the SCM4000 are identified in
Figure 3-6 on
page 3-10 and are described below. Connectors covered are as

Demodulator/Decoder DB-9 Front Panel RS232 Connector
The RS232 DB-9 male connector is used for factory test and is
located behind an access cover.
Demodulator/Decoder AC/DC Power Connector The AC/DC
power connector provides connection to the removable external
AC/DC power cable. The power connector is part of the power
switch assembly.
Demodulator/Decoder BNC IF IN Connector The IF IN 75
ohm BNC female connector provides the input connection for 70
MHz IF to the unit.
Demodulator/Decoder RJ-45 T1/E1 10/100 Connectors The
RJ-45 10/100 BaseT connectors provide T1/E1 or Ethernet
connections.
