13.2.1 Check fuel tank and fuel lines
- Check that the fuel tank and fuel lines are undamaged and do not leak
- Check tank lid fits properly
- Clean any dirty parts
13.2.2 Motor oil change, check oil level
Change of motor is only undertaken when the
motor is warm, in accordance with the instructions
for use of the motor.
- Place the electricity generating unit on
a suitable base at height on a slightly
sloping surface against spillage of oil.
- Open oil filler cap.
- Open oil drain plug and drain out
motor oil.
- When the old oil has all drained out,
close the drain plug and stand the
generator level again.
- Refill with motor oil to the upper mar
king on the dipstick.
- Secure the oil filler cap firmly by hand.
Any spilt motor oil must immediately be mopped
up by suitable means. The used oil must be disposed of in accordance with
regulations.
Check the oil level
- After opening the filler cap, push the oil dipstick
into the oil filler, but do not screw it in (the oil level
should be between the upper and lower markings),
top up if necessary.
