8.2. Air filter
Never allow the motor to run without the
air filter, as this will cause accelerated
wear-and-tear on the motor.
1. Check the air filter inserts to make
sure these are clean and in good
condition.
2. Clean the inserts if necessary, or
replace them.
8.3. Fuel
Use motor vehicle petrol (preferably
using unleaded petrol). Never use an oil-
petrol mixture, or dirty petrol. Do not
allow dirt of any kind, dust or water to
get into the petrol tank. Do not overfill
the tank, and after filling the tank, ensure
that the filler-cap is properly secured.
• Petrol is highly flammable and
under certain conditions can be explosive.
• Only fill the tank in a well-ventilated environment and with the motor switched off. When filling the tank, and in places where fuel
is stored, do not smoke, and keep naked flames and sparks away.
• Make sure when filling the tank that no fuel is spilled. Petrol vapour or spilt petrol can ignite easily. If any petrol should be spilt,
make absolutely certain that before starting the motor the area is completely dry, and that the petrol vapour has entirely disper-
sed.
• Avoid repeated or lengthy contact with the skin, and avoid the inhalation of fumes. Keep out of the reach of children.
