Saftey instructions
-
This electricity generator was delivered to you in a condition complying with safety requirements. Do not removeany safety devi-
ces. Do not remove any protective covers from the electrical equipment. Do not use any unauthorised accessory or spare parts.
-
Exhaust gases are poisonous! Do not operate the generator in enclosed, unventilated rooms.
-
WARNING! Even when an exhaust pipe is used, poisonous exhaust gases from the motor may escape; for this reason, attention
must be paid to good ventilation. Operation in enclosed rooms is only permitted where safety regulations are strictly observed.
The exhaust pipe may not be routed over flammable materials, nor directed at such materials. Danger of fire!
-
Take particular care when handling fuel. Danger of fire and/ or explosion. Never replenish the fuel tank when the motor is run-
ning. Take precautions against spillage onto the ground. When replenishing the tank, a suitable pouring spout must be used.
-
Do not operate the generator in the immediate vicinity of flammable materials. Danger of fire.
-
Do not touch any parts which may be hot. Danger of burning.
-
It is essential to observe the provisions of item 4 - electrical connection and protective measures. Fatal consequences may attend
incompetent connection.
-
If an extended period is to be spent in the vicinity of the generator, ear-muffs must be worn.
1.
Construction and operation of the generator.
1.1 Generator
construction
The generator is a short-circuit-proof, self-exciting, asynchronous, internal-pole generator, contactless, in accordance with VDE 0530;
excitation as AC excitation with exciter unit of flashover-resistant voltage-stable plastic foil capacitor, insulation class F, constructed in
protection type IP 54, protected against dust and spray. The stator copper windings are damp-proof and tropicalised impregnated.
Compliant with radio interference class N as per VDE 0875 and the regulations in accordance with DIN VDE 0879 Part 1.
1.2 Standard driving motors: Mitsubishi petrol engine
Air-cooled, four-stroke single-cylinder motor with horizontal crankshaft. The automatic low oil-level cut-out switch prevents the motor
being started if the oil level is too low, or if the level becomes too low during running, the motor is stopped. The automatic oil cut-out
will also come into operation if the generator is stood on a sloping surface. The generator may be operated either with super or nor-
mal lead-free petrol. Operating readiness is achieved through recoil starter. The petrol engine is fitted with electronic ignition.
1.3 Construction
The generator comprises essentially the driving motor, generator, switch box and protective tubular framework.
The generator is connected to the engine by means of a cone connector and an additional set screw.
