Daimler AG certifies that completed Metris vans "as
delivered", which are supplied by MBUSA and MBCAN
to dealers or upfitters, are compliant with the emis-
sions and safety standards of the USA and Canada at
the time of manufacture. If the vehicle is modified after
delivery by MBUSA and MBCAN, the upfitter and/or
dealer assumes legal accountability.
This section contains general information on the
applicable emissions and safety standards at the time
of vehicle manufacture. This section is intended to
facilitate understanding of the emissions and noise
standards of the US-EPA and CARB, the Federal Motor
Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and the Canadian
Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS) among upfit-
ters. UPFITTER MANAGEMENT VANS will not approve
and does not recommend any modifications or installa-
tions on Metris vehicles, which impair compliance with
EPA, CARB, FMVSS or CMVSS standards or jeopardize
the safety of the vehicle.
