Bodyshell threshold values
5.4.1 Modifications to the bodyshell
When modifications are made to the load-bearing
structure, the total rigidity of the structure fitted by the
upfitter must correspond to at least the rigidity of the
series production vehicle.
5.4.2 Vehicle roof/roof load
Maximum roof load of standard roof
150 kg = 330 lbs
(with at least three pairs of support feet)
The figures indicated are applicable for even load distri-
bution across the entire roof area.
With a shorter roof carrier, the load must be reduced
proportionally. The highest possible load per pair of
roof carrier support feet is 50 kg = 110 lbs.
The highest possible load of a railing carrier is
100 kg = 202 lbs.
7.2.6 “Modifications to the roof structure”
(
Page 69) must be observed when making modifi-
cations to the roof structure.
5.4.3 Threshold values for fastening
points
The maximum tensile loading of the tie-down points
only applies if the following conditions are fulfilled:
•
The load located on the load compartment floor is
secured at two tie-down points on the rail and
•
The distance to the next load securing point on the
same rail is approx. 1 m.
