Lubricating the Grit Roller Ground Clips
Three Ground Clips are located on the right side of the Print Engine, at the ends of the Grit Roller Shafts.
To access them you must remove the Lifter Motor and Stepper Motor. See
“Replacing Lifter Motor” and
“Replacing Stepper Motor” on the previous two pages.
1. Once the Stepper Motor is removed,
carefully remove the Stand and Gear
mounted behind it.
2. Loosen, but do not remove, the T10
mounting screw on all (3) Ground Clips.
[A] Two behind Stepper Motor.
[B] One behind Lifter Motor.
3. Use a small, flathead screwdriver to
remove the e-clip, washer and spring
from the end of the shaft(s).
4. Use a foam swab to apply a thin film of
conductive grease (Loctite 38650 or
equivalent) to the washers and ground spring.
5. Reinstall the washers, spring and e-clip on the Roller
Shafts.
6. Align the Stepper Motor with the Gear and Stand
hardware.
7. Reinstall the Stepper and Lifter Motors.
