3. Standard Landing Gear Assembly
A. Removal
(Ref. Figure 403)
Hoisting
(1). Hoist the rotorcraft until damper
assemblies (3) are extended (ref.
Section 07-10-00).
Support the tailboom and
cockpit to prevent rotor­
craft movement that can injure person­
nel during removal of the landing gear
assembly.
Make sure you support the land­
ing gear assembly with jacks
during removal. Damage to components can
occur.
(2). Carefully loosen jam nut (8) and
round-end bolt (10) sufficiently to
disengage from and not touch compres­
sion pad (11) of fuselage fitting (6).
NOTE:
If necessary, remove forward side-
clamps (ref. Procedure 1.A.).
(3). Remove bolts (15), flat washers (14),
ends of jumpers (13), countersunk
washers (12), and forward saddles (16)
from forward fuselage fittings (6).
(4). Remove bolts (19), flat washers (18),
countersunk washers (17), and aft
saddles (20) from aft fuselage fittings
(4).
(5). Remove landing gear assembly (1).
B. Installation

(1). Prepare the mating surfaces of aft and
forward saddle assemblies (4, 6), ends
of jumpers (13), and aft and forward
crosstubes (2, 5) for an electrical bond
(ref. CSP-SPM, Section 20-50-00).
(2). Put landing gear assembly (1) under
rotorcraft.
NOTE:
Use jacks and/or blocks to help center
the landing gear assembly and to keep the
saddles parallel to the fittings.
(a). Align saddle pads (21) on aft saddles
(20) and forward saddles (16) with aft
fuselage fittings (4) and forward
fuselage fittings (6).
Support the tailboom and

nel during installation of the landing
gear assembly.
(3). Lower the rotorcraft until aft and
forward fuselage fittings (4, 6) meet aft
and forward saddles (16, 20).
(4). Install countersunk washers (17), flat
washers (18), bolts (19), and aft saddles
(20) on aft fuselage fittings (4).
