Chapter 6:
Maintenance and Servicing
This chapter contains the information necessary to perform routine maintenance and occasional servicing tasks on your
machine. The word
“
maintenance
”
refers to scheduled tasks that help your machine operate safely and effectively;
“
service
”
refers to tasks that must be performed when a part needs to be repaired or replaced. For advanced service
procedures, contact your Dealer.
6.1
Preparing Machine for Servicing
Observe all safety precautions before beginning service on the machine.
DANGER
To prevent bodily injury or death from the unexpected start-up or fall of a raised machine, always stop the engine and
remove the key before leaving the operator
’
s seat, and always engage the safety props before going under the
machine for any reason.
CAUTION
To avoid personal injury, follow all the safety precautions listed before servicing header or opening drive covers.
1.
Lower the header fully. If it is necessary to service the header in the raised position, always engage the safety props.
2.
Stop the engine and remove the key from the ignition.
3.
Engage the park brake.
4.
Wait for all moving parts to stop.
