The WaveLAN IEEE 802.11 PC Card is sold separately from the
WaveLAN/EC-S Ethernet converter. As various versions of the
WaveLAN IEEE 802.11 PC Card exist today, you may need to
check whether the card that you wish to use in combination with
your WaveLAN/EC-S device is fully compatible with the device.
The compatibility check applies to the type of hardware, and
version of the embedded software loaded into the card.
WaveLAN PC Card Types

Your WaveLAN/EC-S device is compatible with the following types
of WaveLAN IEEE 802.11 PC Cards:

Standard WaveLAN IEEE 802.11 PC Cards.
■
WaveLAN IEEE Turbo PC Cards.
■
Fixed Wireless PC Cards.
The Standard WaveLAN IEEE 802.11 PC Cards, are network
interface cards that comply with the IEEE 802.11 standard on
wireless LANs. This card supports two data speeds (Standard &
Low) with a maximum of 2 Mbit/s.
The WaveLAN IEEE Turbo PC Cards are network interface cards
that support four different data speeds, in the range of Low,
Standard, Medium and High (Ethernet Equivalent speed).
Both card types are available in two variants

Previously released versions of the Standard WaveLAN IEEE 802.11 PC
Card, were characterized by a white label. The white label cards, support
the same features and functionalites as the Bronze Label cards.
