REMOTE COMMUNICATION AND ALARM
The LubriMist® Model JD is equipped with an alarm contact and a RS-422/485 data communication
terminal. Both can be connected to a user-provided unit status enunciator located at a remote location.
The remote alarm contact is a dry FORM-C contact that can be used to operate remote annunciation to
indicate a unit fault or loss of power alarm. The RS-422/485 is a serial data port, capable of transmitting at a
baud rate up to 19200 bits per second.
Remote Alarm Contact
A basic on-off closure from the dry FORM-C contact can be connected to a user provided alarm. A user
furnished power source must be connected to the common terminal to power the alarm enunciator. The relay
contact is part of the same hermetically sealed relay that operates the red and green unit status lights. Each
time the unit status lights operate so do the remote alarm contacts. These contacts are inside the AC power
enclosure located on the left side of the mechanical compartment. See

Connections
in the INSTALLATION section of this manual for terminal location and connection information.
The alarm relay contact arrangement in the diagram below is shown in the shelf position. The relay is
normally energized and de-energizes to alarm.
To avoid risk of explosion hazard, remote alarm
electrical power circuits should be nonincendive.
