Changing The Mist Generating Capacity
The
JD
Oil Mist Generator is designed to provide oil mist lubrication for systems over a wide range of oil mist
flow requirements. The
JD
package can easily be set up to service oil mist systems with mist capacity
requirements from 1.2 to 28 SCFM. The mist generators of the same capacity are always installed in the
main and auxiliary mist units.
When system flow requirements change due to the addition or deletion of mist application points, the mist
generating capacity of the
JD
Oil Mist Generator must be verified. If necessary a new mist generator insert
kit can be easily installed to keep up with the new mist generating requirements.
The
JD
Oil Mist Console is shipped as one of four different mist-generating capacities. The four different
capacities are listed in the table below. Reference

Separate mist generating cartridge kits are available for changing the mist flow requirements when the new
mist flow is outside the specified mist generating range. The mist generator cartridge size can be identified
by making note of the number of machined rings found on the vortex plate of each cartridge assembly. The
number of rings for each capacity oil mist generating cartridge is shown in the above table. See the figure
below for the location of these markings.
The kits include the necessary parts to change both the main and the auxiliary oil mist generating heads.
Consult CFH Reliability Services of Houston Texas USA for further information.
The Flow Capacity of the Mist Generator Is
Indicated By The Number Of Machined Grooves In
the Vortex Plate. Reference The Above Table For
Identification.
The Mist Generating Heads Are Located On
Top of the Main And Auxiliary Oil Mist
Generator Reservoirs.
