(12) Fuel filter water separator – Check and Drain

Check water in the fuel filter water separator
on a daily basis. If necessary, drain the water
as followings.
NOTE: There is not a fuel shutoff valve on the fuel
tank. To stop the fuel flow from the fuel tank,
remove the fuel inlet hose at the fuel filter base
and plug it, or clamp the fuel hose to stop the fuel
flow.
1.Make sure there is adequate fuel in the fuel tank
and close off or plug the fuel inlet hose to the
fuel filter.
2. Loosen the hose clamp

and disconnect the
fuel hose.
3. Open the fuel inlet hose and let fuel flow until
all of the water has been removed and only fuel
flows from the filter base.
4.Install the fuel hose and bleed the system as
outlined in chapter 5-12-(1), “Air- bleeding from
Fuel system” in this manual.
