Depending on the date of manufacture or engine type, your cooling system may be equipped with
conventional ethylene glycol coolant or an Organic Acid Technology (OAT) coolant solution. You
can easily identify
OAT coolant solution
by its yellow color. You should never mix the coolant
types.
But, the use of OAT coolant solution for your model has not yet been approved by the engine
manufacturer.
We strongly recommend not to use OAT coolant solution.
NOTICE: NEVER mix OAT coolant with conventional ethylene glycol coolant.
Definitions
Conventional coolant:
A coolant that relies on inorganic inhibitors such as silicates, nitrites, and phosphates for corrosion
and cavitation protection.
Organic Acid Technology (OAT) coolant:
A coolant that relies on inhibitors such as organic acid salts for corrosion and cavitation protection.
