8. Slide the server into the rack.
9. Reconnect the power cord and any cables that you removed.
10. Turn on the peripheral devices and the server.

To remove and install the battery, complete the steps in this section.
Removing the battery
To remove the system-board battery, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information in Chapter 2 “Safety information” on page 3 and “Installation guidelines”
on page 67.
2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords; then, remove the cover (see
“Removing and replacing the cover” on page 72).
3. If necessary, lift the riser-card assembly out of the way (see “Removing and installing a PCI riser-card
assembly” on page 81).
4. Locate the battery on the system board

5. Remove the system-board battery:
a. Use one finger to push the battery horizontally out of its housing.
