1-4-2 Self-diagnosis
(1) Self-diagnostic function
This unit is equipped with a self-diagnostic function. When a problem is detected, copying is disabled and the problem dis-
played as a code consisting of C followed by a number, indicating the nature of the problem.
A message is also displayed requesting the user to call for service.
After removing the problem, the self-diagnostic function can be reset by turning the main power switch off and back on.

When the front-side registration home-
position sensor is turned on during initial-
ization, the sensor did not turn on while it
has moved by 106 pulses.
When the front-side registration home-
position sensor is turned off during initial-
ization, the sensor did not turn on in 3 s.
The front side reg-
istration motor con-
nector makes poor
contact.
Reinsert the connector. Also check for conti-
nuity within the connector cable. If none,
remedy or replace the cable.
