6.32 Pause fan period.
Each time the plant feeds a little fuel during the pause mode, the fan will start up, as mentioned above.
How long time you want the fan to blow also depends on the fuel; if the fan blows for a too short period
when using for example grain as a fuel, the fire may die out – and if it blows for a too long time when
using an easily combustable fuel, this will cause an increased danger of a backfire.

6.33 Pause screw period.
When the plant stands still in the pause mode, fuel is fed into the plant at adequate intervals. The amount
of fuel to be fed during the pause period is decided by the length of the “PAUSE SCREW PERIOD”.
As a starting point, set the screw period at the same value as the screw period in step 2.
If too much fuel is fed into the plant, the boiler temperature will slowly rise and in the end, the boiler will
overheat – on the other hand, if too little fuel is fed, this may cause the risk of a backfire.

6.34 Start portion.
When the boiler has been in the pause mode and is about to start up again, we add an adequate portion of
fuel (”START FUEL”) to enable the starting-up and facilitate for the oxygen % to quickly drop below the
“START-UP OXYGEN LIMIT” before the end of the “START-UP PERIOD”.
In case the boiler stops because the oxygen % is still too high, after the ”START-UP PERIOD” has
expired, you have to either enlarge the “START PORTION” or prolong the “START-UP PERIOD”.
