PumpDrive slave
If all the PumpDrives are switched on simultaneously for the first time (for example,
by a master switch), the Advanced control panel which will assume the active master
function is not determined. The active master control panel is the control panel
whose LED is flashing. The Aux Main Guard Tm
(3-10-1-3)
and Backup Guard Tm
(3-1-7-4)
parameters must be set for each PumpDrive (Advanced control panel only).
Setting these time values defines that Pump 1 will become the main pump with
active master control panel when voltage is supplied simultaneously to all drives in
the system. If pump 2 is also equipped with an Advanced control panel, this pump
will serve as auxiliary main pump and its PumpDrive will assume the function of
auxiliary master control panel.
If PumpDrives with higher time values are cut in before PumpDrives with lower time
values, these assume the function of active master control panel controlling the main
pump. This means that the position of the main pump and active master control
panel can change and that there is no longer a fixed local arrangement if the
PumpDrives are cut in at different points in time.
Ensure that sensors are only connected to PumpDrives equipped with an Advanced
control panel.

The PumpDrive with the lowest time value is defined as
controlling the main pump when voltage is applied. A
higher time value has to be entered for each further
PumpDrive. This also applies to PumpDrives used as slaves.

The PumpDrive Advanced model with the lowest time value
is defined as the active master control panel when voltage
is applied. A higher time value has to be entered for each
further PumpDrive Advanced.
Identification of the active master control panel:
When voltage is first applied, the LED of the active master control panel flashes. The
active master control panel can be identified by the fact that the PumpDrive ID
parameter
(3-1-1-4)
displays the IDs of all the PumpDrives connected to the KSB local
bus. On the auxiliary master or the Basic control panel, only the ID of the PumpDrive
equipped with the Advanced control panel is shown under this parameter.
Parameterisation sequence for activating multiple pump operation:
Parameterisation of the PumpDrives has to be carried out with the active master
control panel via the KSB local bus. Parameter groups Panel
(3-1)
and Advanced
Pump Control
(3-12)
have to be parameterised individually for each Advanced control
panel. All global parameters entered using the master control panel are written to all
PumpDrives in a multiple pump configuration.
