6 .2 Reader Maintenance
6 .2 .1 Cassette Insertion Slot
Cleaning
CAUTION
•
Cleaning must be performed after the device power
is turned OFF, and the power supply has been un-
plugged .
When doing this, clean the power supply’s plug of any
dust or debris .
Cleaning methods

Use a dry, soft cloth to lightly wipe the
cassette insertion slot free of dust .

If the dirt will not come off, wipe it with a slightly
damp cloth, then wipe it dry with a dry cloth .

External Cleaning of
Device

Cleaning (Keeping Them
Dust Free)
If a white line error occurs for a read image, light col-
lection unit might contain dust or debris . Follow the
steps below to clean light collection unit .

Make sure the Busy Lamp is not lit (indi

cating that the reader is not operating) .

Open the left door .

Move the light collection unit cleaning
handle 3 times .

This will activate a cleaning brush inside of the de-
vice, which will free the light collection unit of dust .

Check that the light collection unit clean

Close the left door .

Prepare a test image, perform image read,
and check whether or not white lines have
been generated .
