Chapter 4—Hardware and Maintenance Repairs

 

Installing the Microprocessor

1.

Touch the antistatic package containing the new microprocessor to any 
unpainted

 

metal surface on the server, and then remove the microprocessor 

from the package.

2.

Unlock the microprocessor socket.

a.

Press the socket lever down to release the load plate from its locking 
position. The load plate covers the microprocessor socket.
