Firstly select the type of soil or rock you are describing, as the following questions are tailored to this initial
selection. Select CLAY and the Thumbpad will take you to the list of questions for clay as shown below.

The stratum description Thumbpad allows you to make one or more selections from the list. Each time you
tap on an item it is added to the complete description in the top box. This first list contains all the strength
descriptors, select "Soft to Firm" to add it to the description box at the top of the form as shown above. Now tap the
right arrow and select the colour of the clay. The list and options in this section are very large and the scroll buttons
to the right of the screen will need to be utilised.

The second list contains all the colour descriptors. In this list we need to
select “reddish" "brown” this is
again achieved by utilising the scroll buttons. To move onto the next list tap the right arrow button.
If you select the wrong item by mistake then you can remove it by tapping
the Undo button.

The third list contains all the constituent descriptors. From this
list select “slightly" "sandy" To move onto
the next list tap the right arrow button.
