Note
2
Upon turning on the power s w i t c h , if the V A R I A B L E K E Y ®
is kept pressed until the displayed value of each of the volt-
meter and ammeter becomes " 0 0 0 0 " , the settings of the panel
will return to the said initial settings, and the data stored in
the P R E S E T K E Y s be cleared.
[Caution]
: If the s y s t e m is turned off while the data ' 0 0 0 0 '
is displayed on the display pannel. T h e content of the backup
memory may be destroyed. It may c a u s e an error. Keep it in
mind. If the s y s t e m is turned off due to operational errors or
some other unavoidable errors (for example, power failure), per-
form the operations d i s c u s s e d in Note 2 on. T h e s y s t e m will
be initialized.
Setting by the Rotary Encoder
* Every set value can be varied by using the V / A value set-
ting knob of the rotary encoding s y s t e m . T h e set value in-
c r e a s e s if the knob is turned c l o c k w i s e . T h e set value
decreases if the knob is turned c o u n t e r c l o c k w i s e .
* W h e n adjusting settings using the Rotary Encoder, the
amount by which the target parameter changes per incre-
ment of rotation will vary depending on how quickly the
knob is rotated.
1) W h e n the V A R I A B L E L E D is lit up green ( " S L O W "
mode) and the Rotary Encoder knob is rotated s l o w -
ly, the voltage, current, settings will change in incre-
ments of 10 m V , 10 m A , respectively, per click of the
knob. If the knob is turned quickly, the settings will
change in increments of about 2 V , 2 A , respectively
(about 2 V , 1 A , respectively, for the 3 6 - 1 model).
2) W h e n the V A R I A B L E L E D is lit up orange ( " F A S T "
' mode) and the Rotary Encoder knob is rotated s l o w -
ly, the voltage, current, and delay time settings will
change by the s a m e increments a s for the " S L O W "
mode (i.e., 1 0 m V , 10 m A ) . H o w e v e r , if the knob is
turned quickly in the " F A S T " mode, the settings will
change in increments of about double those in the
" S L O W " mode. Beyond these values, the increments
will increase no further no matter how quickly the knob
is rotated.
* If the positive or negative output voltage level is set to +
or - 5 0 m V , this n e w value will be stabilized in a f e w s e -
conds. T h e s a m e temporary value is set w h e n a n e w value
is s e t using the P R E S E T feature.
* One click on the rotary encoder may force 2-digit voltage
and current display data to change at the s a m e time or to
remain uncharged.
* If 'automatic range up' mode is activated on the P W R 3 6 - 1
product, the display data will be changed in 1 0 0 m V unit
each 10 c l i c k s on the rotary encoder. Note that the data
exceeding 2 0 V is not displayed in 10 m V unit. T h e output
level can change in 10 m V unit.
If 'automatic range d o w n ' mode is a c t i v a t e d , the data ex-
ceeding 1 9 . 9 V is displayed in 1 0 0 m V unit ( 1 0 clicks). T h e
data below 1 9 . 9 m V is displayed in 1 0 m V unit (one click)
s u c h as 1 9 . 9 V ^ 1 9 . 8 9 V - ^ 1 9 . 8 8 V .
W h e n turning the Rotary Encoder, do not apply an e x -
c e s s i v e force to its shaft, a s this may c a u s e damage.
The Rotary encoder is equipped w i t h a mechanical con-
tact and extended use requires the current rotary encoder
to be replaced w i t h a n e w one.
Call the local service representative if this o c c u r s .
