./kavupdater update_switch [switch1] [switch2]...
where
update_switch
is a mandatory switch reflecting the way the update
will be performed (see subchapter 11.3);
[switchN]
is an optional command line switch. For a list of
switches and their functions see Appendix B.
By default, the updater uses the following two parameters in
AvpUnix.ini
(see Appendix A):
BasePath
– which defines the directory where virus-
definition databases are located, and
SetFile
– which defines the name of
the .set file of virus-definition databases. However, you may redefine the
values of these options with the command line switches
–b
and
–s,
respectively (for details see Appendix B).
If, when you start Sun Solaris or Daemon, the program cannot find
the .set file or the databases, and you know that they are located in
the preset location, you should optimize the .set file. To do this, start
Updater with the command line switch
–o
. During the optimization the
file names are formatted in lowercase letters: name of the
.set
file
within
AvpUnix.ini
, name of the
.set
file itself, names of virus-
definition database files within the
.set
file and names of virus-
definition database files themselves. Sometimes this kind of
synchronization is necessary, since Sun Solaris is a case sensitive
system.
