Manual method to purge non-condensable gas directly from
absorber
When the chiller-heater operates at a lower capacity than usual for a long period of time or when
it restarts after a power failure, the absorber can contain non-condensable gases. If the machine
starts under these conditions, its performance and efficiency go down. If this happens, purge non-
condensable gas directly from the absorber manually according to the following procedure.
1. Connect the three wires of the service vacuum pump to U6, V6, W6 of the MC6 contactor in
the control panel terminal. Connect the purge hose from the absorber purging valve to the
vacuum pump suction port.
2. Press the purge pump Mg-SW
ON
button. The MC6 closes, so the vacuum pump runs. Confirm
the vacuum pump rotation and the vacuum pump performance.
Note:
Connect the hose from the vacuum pump exhaust port into the water. Run the
vacuum pump. Check the bubble release speed. When the bubble release speed is less
than 2 per minute, the performance of vacuum pump is accepted.
3. Open the absorber purging valve (V12) to purge the non-condensable gas from the absorber.
4. Continue to purge the vacuum for 2 to 3 hours.
