Handling Bales
Handle bales only after you fully understand how to handle
palleted loads. The basic procedure is the same, but
remember the following points:

Lower the forks and tilt them forward as shown.

Carefully drive the machine forward in first gear (
1
).
Stop when the fork uprights just touch the load. Tilt the
mast back. Put the mast and carriage in the travel
position.

WARNING
The machine's load centre is extended when using a
drum clamp attachment. Do not overload the machine.

Fit the Drum Clamp Attachment
a
Space the forks to correct width.

Set the carriage vertical.
c
Mount the drum clamp on the forks and lock it in
position with screw

Pick Up the Drums
a
Make sure that the clamp is upright.
b
Approach the drums on centre.
c
Position the clamp arms just below the level of the
rims.
d
Drive the machine forward or extend the carriage
until the drums seat securely in the clamp.
