Changing the Drive Belt

Get access to the drive belt. Refer to
Front End
Accessory Drive Belt, Introduction
.

Use a 16mm (5/8 in.) socket located on the hexagon
spigot nut

, carefully rotate the tensioner against the
spring force in direction

. Do not use excessive force
or the tensioner will be damaged.

Keep holding the tensioner against the spring force
and lift the belt off the tensioner pulley

.

Slowly release the spring force by rotating the
tensioner unit in the opposite direction.

Before fitting a new belt, check that the tensioner
roller and fan pulley rotate smoothly and that there is
no play in the bearings.

Fit the new drive belt around the pulleys.
