Starter Switch
This is a rotary switch
A
, operated by the starter key. It has
four positions. The key can be removed only with the
switch set to
0
(Off).
Note:
Do not operate the starter motor for more than 10
seconds without the engine firing. If the engine fires but
does not fully start, do not operate the starter motor for
more than 40 seconds. Let the starter motor cool for at
least two minutes between starts.

. Press down to switch on rear window
wiper. The wiper does not self-park. It functions only with
the starter switch on.

wiper. The wiper does not self-park. It functions only with
the starter switch on.

Off/Stop Engine. Turning the key to this position
will stop the engine. Make sure the transmission
is in neutral, the attachments have been lowered
and the park brake is engaged before stopping
the engine.
IG/I
On. Putting the switch to this position connects
the battery to all electrical circuits except the lights
and hazard warning circuits. (The lights and
hazard warning circuits are permanently live). The
starter key will spring back to this position when it
is released from positions
H/ll
or
HS/lll
. At -6°C
(21°F) warning light 5 will illuminate to indicate the
cold start inlet manifold heater has come on (if
fitted).

This position is not used in this application.
HS/III
Start position. Operates the starter motor to turn
the engine.
