Instruction manual

Using the spray gun trigger (9)

At the beginning of the paint stroke, press the spray

gun trigger (9) and release the spray gun trigger (9) at

the end of the paint stroke. This technique will create

an even finish.

The paint stroke

The painting stroke should be at an even speed

and the gun needs to be kept at a consistent distance

from  the  surface. Avoid  a  rounded  swinging  stroke. A

flexible wrist helps keep the gun moving in a straight line

and an even distance from the surface.

Overlapping

Each pass of the spray gun needs to overlap

the  previous  by  approximately  1/3. A  cross  pattern  is

recommended. Start with horizontal passes and finish

with light vertical passes. When spraying a long job such

as a fence, it is best to work in sections of approximately

one  metre.  Ensure  sufficient  overlap  when  starting  a

new section.

Spraying ceilings

Spraying  ceilings  is  difficult  and  requires  patience

and  skill.  Ensure  that  the  pick  up  tube  (2)  is  turned

towards the rear of the paint cup (1). Fill the paint cup (1)

no more than 1/2 full and do not point the gun vertically

upwards as paint may flow into the flexible air hose (15).

Spraying down

When spraying down on a horizontal surface such

as a bench, ensure that the pick up tube (2) is turned

towards the front of the paint cup (1). Fill the paint cup

(1) no more than 1/2 full and do not point the spray gun

vertically down.

Spraying picket fences and lattice

Avoid spraying on windy days. Overspray can drift

considerable distances and dust can effect the painted

surface.  Place  a  large  sheet  of  cardboard  behind  the

surface to catch the through spray.

Spraying narrow surfaces [F5]

Screw the paint control in and this will create

a  narrow  spray  pattern.  Adjust  the  air  cap  (5)  to

accommodate horizontal or vertical spraying. Hold the

gun closer to the surface for narrow jobs.

Spraying a large surface

When spraying a large surface such as a wall,

screw  the  fluid  adjustment  knob  (8)  out  and  this  will

create  a  wide  spray  pattern.  If  the  paint  begins  to

splatter, readjust the fluid adjustment knob (8) inwards.

Hold the gun further from the surface for larger jobs.

Masking the surface

Always mask any adjacent surfaces you do not wish

to paint. Take care to cover any nearby objects such as

furniture. Overspray can easily fall on nearby surfaces.

Spraying round surfaces

When spraying round surfaces such as a post,

spray up and down with the air cap (5) in the horizontal

pattern.

ATTENTION!

Clean

the

gun

immediately after use!

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

Before any work on the device itself,

pull the mains plug.

Always keep the tool and the ventilation slots (if

present) cleaned. Regular cleaning and maintenance of

the appliance will ensure efficiency and prolong the life

of your tool.

If the tool should fail despite the rigorous

manufacturing and testing procedures, the repair should

be carried out by an authorized IVT customer service.

Keep all nuts, bolts, and screws tight, to be sure the

tool is in safe working condition.

Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.

Use only original spare parts. Parts not produced

by manufacturer may cause poor fit and possible injury.

Store the tool in a dry room out of reach of kids and

away from any flammable material.

Never wet the device or spray water on it!

Cleaning instructions

Turn off the compressor unit (3). Unplug the power

cord. Empty the paint cup (1). Hold the trigger (9) in and

paint will run out of the pick up tube (2).

Using the recommended solvent (usually water or

mineral turpentine), clean the pick up tube (2), inside

the lid, the paint cup (1), lid washer (6), the air cap (5)

and  retaining  ring  (4)  and  nozzle  (13).  Take  care  to

clean air hole (12), but do not force any instrument into

the air hole (12). Wipe all excess paint from all outside

surfaces of the spray gun.

Place some of recommended solvent into the paint

cup  (1).  A  small  amount  is  enough.  Reassemble  the

spray gun and spray through until clean. Do not spray

solvent or water onto the compressor unit (3) or power

cords or hose to clean them.
