5.9 Connecting the Ethernet (LAN) port
The Panel PC provides two Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000).
Two RJ45 connectors on the I/O panel are provided for the connection.
One LAN is by an Intel controller and the other one by a Realtek controller.
LAN number on the label is for reference only.
LAN number on the OS (e.g. WinXP) depends on the detection when installing
drivers.
Use approved cables CAT.5E or better for connection to Gigabit Ethernet.
The WinXP device drivers for the Ethernet controller are in the motherboard DVD-
ROM. Refer to the motherboard user’s manual for further information.
5.10 Connecting audio devices
On the I/O panel there are 3 connectors (line out, line in e mic). These connectors
are provided for the connection of speakers, microphones and other audio
devices.
The WinXP device drivers for the audio controller are in the motherboard DVD.
Refer to the motherboard user’s manual for further information.
5.11 Connecting the monitor display
The computer motherboard has three types of video interface for display.
1-LVDS interface for internal LCD panel (main display)
2-VGA interface for external CRT/LCD analog monitor
3-DVI-D interface for external LCD digital monitor
The display interface is under Bios control until WinXP boots (WinXP logo
included) afterwards the Intel Graphics Drivers keep the control.
The Intel Graphics Drivers are in the motherboard DVD.
The Bios Setup provides options for the display.
The picture shows the Setup for VX171P-QM57 with LCD 17” 1280x1024.
For VX121P-QM57 and VX151P-QM57 the “LCD Panel Type” setting is
[Type 3 1024x768].
