6.0 Configuration
6.1.4.5 Bridge Configuration
In most deployments, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) will not be re-
quired. It does consume a small amount of bandwidth. The default
is ‘On’. If desired, change the status to ‘Off’.
Note that this menu item will not appear if the EtherWave-WMR unit
is configured to be a router.
STP: Spanning Tree Protocol
is a link management protocol
which will accommodate the
availability of redundant data
paths but inhibit the possibility
of a loop being created: a
loop could create endless
traffic ‘around’ a LAN,
consuming much of the
bandwidth.
