Optimization Guide
Performance Checklist
A.2
Power Optimization Guidelines
•
Use 1.8 V SDRAM, if possible
•
Implement multiple power modes so that the system can switch to the lowest possible power
mode required to meet the processing requirements at that time
•
Switch to run mode instead of turbo mode during times when less processing power is needed
at the lowest possible run and turbo mode frequencies
•
Higher run and turbo mode frequencies consume more power. Optimize system for desired
power and performance
•
Consider performing a frequency change sequence to a lower run frequency if the 500-µS
delay is acceptable for your application
•
Use the SDRAM APD bit
•
Use half-turbo mode to reduce the core clock frequency without impacting bus operations
•
Use minimum Memory Buffer register strength settings possible
•
Use minimum LCD Buffer Strength register settings possible
•
Use Intel® Quick Capture Interface to bring image data in YCbCr mode, when possible
