6. Install the backup battery in the black plastic battery holder (see letter “A” in the 

following figure). Connect the battery cable to the battery connector on the printed 
circuit board (see letter “B”).

7. Align notches in top cover with corresponding tabs in storage controller. Slide the top 

cover forward to close.

8. Secure the top cover to the storage controller with the two screws previously 

removed.

9. Re-install storage controller in server system. For instructions, see 

“Installing a 

Storage Controller” on page 19

.

Removing a Backup Battery

2. Remove the storage controller from the system. For instructions, see
