Midplane Card Installation / Removal (iPC

Intel® Server System M50CYP2UR Family Technical Product Specification
for midplane card features and
capabilities.
Up to two midplane cards can be installed in a system. The following steps outline the installation and
removal of a midplane card. The steps in this section apply to midplane card installation and removal on
either of the two positions in the system.
3.8.1
Midplane Card Installation

1.
Power off the system and disconnect the power cable(s).
2.
Remove the system top cover (see
Section 3.1.1

Remove the air duct (see
Section 3.2.1
4.
Align the four (4) screw holes of the midplane card with the matching threaded holes on the base of the
chassis as shown (see Letter A).
5.
Secure the midplane card to the chassis using four (4) screws that are included in the midplane card kit
(see Letter B). Tighten to 5 in-lb.
6.
Attach all the connectors as required.
7.
Reinstall the air duct (see
Section 3.2.2

Reinstall the system top cover (see
Section 3.1.2
