13� Mount the radial seal inside the
lid�
14� Clean the surfaces and fit a new
gasket�
15� Place the special socket 505 38 17-
23 to the center gear shaft when
assembling to not damage the
radial seal inside the lid�
16� Fit the lid and fasten it with the
screws� Heat the cover to make it
slide on easier�
17� Place the arm in the special tool:
522 90 84-01�
Note!: Always synchronize
the slip clutches by slipping the
clutches in both directions, this
will make the gear teeth have an
equal timing and thereby even
wear on the cog
s.
Preferably use a dial torque
wrench to measure the slip torque
at the same time� A click type
torque wrench will measure the
top valve for the slip and not the
torque in motion�
18� Grease the three pins and insert
them in the grooves� Then place
a 16mm socket over the shaft and
pins�
Use a torque wrench to measure
the arm slip-torque� For a WS482
in 2:nd gear, the torque value
should be 70-85Nm, recorded
while the clutch is slipping�
For a WS482 in 1:st gear the value
is about 10 Nm lower�
Test in both directions�
19� To check the slip clutch for a
WS440 attach the special tool 523
05 78-01 to the torque wrench�
A WS440 should slip at 70-85Nm�
Test in both directions�
