Align Clutch Gear Shafts
(Only WS482)
1� Insert the clutch gear shaft in
special tool nr: 523 05 71-01 and
mount it in a vice�
2� Use Special socket, blade clutch
523 05 76-01 with a Ratchet
Wrench to rotate the gear�
3� Rotate the gear until the larger
timing mark on the gear aligns
with the timing mark on the shaft�
4� Flip over the Clutch gear shaft
together with the Special tool and
put it back in the vice�
5� To fine-tune the gear wheels
ensure that the flat tip of the gear
with the timing mark on the other
side align with the flat tip of the
other gear wheel�

At least 55Nm

7� Disassemble the slip clutch into
the pieces shown in the figure.
Inspect all parts and replace both
clutches if worn� Internal parts are
not available� Replace whole shafts�
8� When assembling, ensure that
the gear is mounted with the two
markings facing upwards�
Reverse all other steps for
reassembly and tighten the nut
to a torque of around
50-70 Nm �
If you can’t reach the slip torque
specified in step 3 replace both
slip clutches�
9� Repeat steps 1-3 in Inspect Clutch
Gear Shafts (p� 82) and make
sure the torque is at least 55Nm
for a single clutch gear chaft�
