This section describes replacing a PCI card.
Removing a PCI card
1.
Disconnect power from the workstation (see
Predisassembly procedures on page 77
).
2.
Remove the side access panel (see
Removing the side access panel on page 79
).
3.
Remove the expansion card support (see
Removing the expansion card support on page 82
).
4.
Remove all cables connected to the PCI card.
5.
Raise the rear retention clamp by lifting the metal bar or the green lever as shown in the following
figure (1).

6.
Lift the PCI card out of the chassis (2).
TIP:
Store the card in an antistatic bag.
7.
Install a PCI slot cover and close the expansion card retention clamp. The retention clamp is
secured by the expansion card support.
NOTE:
It is normal for the expansion card retention clamp to have a slight (5-10 degree) angle
when closed. If the angle is greater than this, open the clamp and ensure that all cards are
properly seated and all the brackets are mated to the chassis, then re-close the clamp.
