Event Recording Setup

Note
When you set both timelapse and event recording simultaneously, the event
recording settings are used when an event is detected and timelapse stops
recording.
For example, if a motion event is detected on Camera 4, the timelapse
recording stops on all cameras and the settings you entered into the Motion
Event function for Camera 4 are used for all cameras set to record.
Event Handling
Any event causes the HRDVS to enter Event mode. The HRDVS automatically detects:
•
A full hard drive
•
A system error
•
Loss of video signal from any enabled camera
•
Text, motion, and alarm events as defined in the Event Recording screens (see
Chapter 11, Event Recording Setup
).
The HRDVS can also operate as an event recorder (see
).
When an event is triggered, the event recording or event action specified in Program mode
starts.
Examples
A motion event may cause the camera that detected the motion to be recorded at a high
speed and low compression.
When the video signal of an enabled camera is lost, the event may trigger a beeping noise
or a text output to the monitor.
There are two reset types that determine how events are cleared:
•
In automatic mode, the event is reset as soon as the input signal returns to inactive.
•
In timed mode, the alarm is active for the interval set. In this case, after the event timer
expires, the event must be deactivated before another timed mode alarm event can
be recognized.
Example
If a door opening triggers an alarm event that lasts for 30 seconds, the event mode turns
off after 30 seconds, even if the door is still open. A timed alarm event cannot be triggered
again until the door is closed.
Motion, text, and alarm events can cause an event video clip to be recorded. An event video
clip records:
•
The starting time and date of the event
•
The type of event
•
The video images that were recorded during the event
