5. Select Zone Layout , then press Enter . Figure 11-5 displays.

Note Only Motion Events 1, 2, 3, and 4 can have their zone layout screen custom
configured. Motion Events 5–16 are permanently set for a single detection
zone (1) and the entire field of view is enabled for detection. You cannot alter
these settings for Motion Events 5–16. The following custom zone layout
procedures only apply to Motion Events 1,2, 3, and 4.
a. The Zone Layout screen divides the display into small squares. A reference view
for the motion event is automatically set. Use the control buttons to move to the
first square you want to assign to zone 1. Press
Camera 1 button to assign the
square you are on to zone 1.
b. Use the control buttons to move to any additional square you want to assign to
zone 1, then press
Camera 1 button. The square shows the number 1.
To remove a square from zone 1, move to that square, then press Camera 1
button. The number 1 is removed from that square.
c. Use Camera buttons 2, 3, and 4 to assign zones 2, 3, and 4.
Each zone may have as many or as few squares included as you want.
Sensitivity Assign independent sensitivity to each zone (3/4 recommended).
Direction Assign each zone a direction for the motion.
Trigger Size Set each zone a trigger size. The trigger size buttons show the number and the
arrangement of zone squares that must be active for a motion alarm to be triggered.
Zone Layout Opens the Zone Layout screen where you define each zone.
Camera Select the detecting camera that causes recording to occur.
Note Do not use the same detecting camera in more than one Motion Event. Once
a camera has been used as a detecting camera causing motion to record, do
not use it again as a detecting camera for other Motion Events. Use of the
same detecting camera in other Motion Events may cause the unit to not
record video on the second motion event.
