Event Recording Setup

To fill the whole screen with the same zone assignment, press and hold the
Camera number button for that zone and press
Camera 16 .
To clear your current zone settings, press Camera 16 button.
Note The zone numbers turn red and a beep sounds when motion is detected as
defined by your Direction and Trigger size settings. This may help you to
make the correct settings when you are setting up your zones.
6. When you are satisfied with your zone assignments, press Enter to exit the Zone
Layout screen.
Note Motion detection will not start until you assign numbers to the Zone Layout
grid.
While motion detection can be an extremely effective tool, it should be set up with
consideration and care to prevent unnecessary alarms. Moving shadows, sunlight through
windows, the moving second hand of a ticking clock, and so on can cause unexpected and
unwanted alarms if they are not considered during the setup phase.
Honeywell recommends that any motion detection setup be evaluated for an extended
period of time (24 to 48 hours) to fine tune settings and verify desired operation. The
on-board motion detection is well suited to indoor applications. Outdoor applications are
susceptible to the irregularities of nature, making it more difficult to anticipate all situations.
Prior to final outdoor use, extensive testing under a variety of conditions is recommended.
Caution If the sensitivity is high and the trigger size is one square, the
onscreen time and display can cause unwanted events as the
numbers change during routine operation. however, any text
displayed from the Text Insertion ports does not trigger a motion
event.
