2.2 Mechanism
2 - 4
(4) Drain
tube
The drain tube extends from the left part of the Auto Sipper front
panel.
This tube is used for draining the sample after completion of
measurement or the used cleaning agent from the flow cell.
To hold the waste liquid drained from the system, prepare a
drain tank, into which the end of the drain tube can be inserted.
(A drain tank is not attached to the Auto Sipper).
NOTE:
Do not bend the drain tube excessively, nor put anything on
it. Otherwise, tube may be crushed, in which case liquid
may not be sipped or drained.
(5) Pinchcock
The pinchcock is attached to the drain tube.
When the pinched peristaltic tube is released after measurement,
the liquid in the flow cell and in the drain tube is drained through
the tube. Therefore, to prevent the liquid from draining out of the
tube, close the pinchcock before releasing the pinched peristaltic
tube.
When you start the next measurement, open the pinchcock after
pinching the peristaltic tube between the roller and the lever.
2.2.3 Setting Peristaltic Tube
(1) Place the OUT-joint of the peristaltic tube in the slot (at the
observer's left as viewed from the front) of the joint support.
Placing the tube and pulling it upward as shown in Fig. 2-8 will
ease this work.
