4-7 System Resetting/Resetting Camera Functions
The camcorder has two types of reset function: “System reset” and “Resetting camera functions”.
The reset operation will return the various settings to the defaults when the camcorder was shipped
form factory.
4-7-1 List of items to be reset
Table 4-7-1 shows the items that will be reset to defaults at the factory by the two types of reset op-
eration: “system reset” and “resetting camera functions”. Check the settings of the received device.
Use the memo column in the table to enter the settings of any received device.
(1) Procedure for checking settings
1) Set the power switch to “OFF” and use a battery or the AC adapter/charger to power the cam-
corder.
2) Set the Movie/Still switch to "Movie", insert a BD-R/BD-RE, and then turn the power switch to
"ON". With the DZ-BD7HA, also use the power switch to choose the "BD/DVD" mode.
Then operate the camcorder while watching the LCD monitor or view
fi
nder.
3) Press the MENU button to display the Camera Functions Setup screen, and then check the set-
tings. Do not press the GUIDE button at this time: The settings cannot be con
fi
rmed.
4) Operate the joystick (

/
/
) to display the screens for the record function setup, out-
put function setup, date function setup, EVF/LCD setup and initial setup, in sequence, and make
sure of each setting.
At this time, the menu items concerning the quality of movie recording on DVD and still record-
ing will not appear: Check them in step 5) and after.
5) Remove the BD-R/BD-RE, and insert a DVD-RAM/DVD-RW/DVD-R.
6) Press the MENU button and operate the joystick to display the record function setup screen, and
then check the setting of SD movie quality.
7) Set the Movie/Still switch to “Still”. It is not necessary to insert a card at this time.
8) Press the MENU button to display the camera Function setup screen, and then check the

setting.
9) Operate the joystick to display the record function setup screen, and then check the setting of self
timer.
10) After checking is complete, press the STOP/EXIT or MENU button to restore the ordinary screen.
