Reel Hydraulic Lockout Valve

Unlock and Lift Reel Cage
216080C
Shut down the tractor and remove
the key before repairing, servicing,
lubricating or cleaning the
machine. Engage the parking
brake (if equipped).
Relieve all hydraulic pressure in
the hoses before going near the
machine.
1. Ensure the reel hydraulic lockout valve (1)
is properly connected to the reel cage and
will rotate the valve when the cage is
opened.
-
Check that the clamping bolt is tight
on the valve rotate arm.
The hydraulic lockout valve is a safety
device that closes to cut off hydraulic
flow to the reel motor if the reel cage
is lifted. The lockout valve also
prevents accidental activation of the
motor while in the reel area.
Note: Do not depend on this device
alone for personal safety. Shut
down the tractor and remove
the key before lifting the reel
cage.
See Section 5 for "Adjusting the Reel
Lockout Valve".
2. Unlock the cage lock (2) and lift the reel
cage.
-
Stop the reel from rotating before
lifting the cage.
