Position the Compressor Tool Clamps

Remove the reel bat compressor from
the storage area on the back of the
rock bucket.

Remove the pin (1) in the upper
support.

Place the reel bat compressor tool on
the center of the lodged bat and on
the reel center tube.
Work on the lodged bat from the
front of the apron (away from the
direction of the bat rotation).
This work position is to prevent the
spring pressure on the bat from
throwing the lodged rock that will
cause injury or moving the bat
swiftly and causing serious injury.

Position the lower clamps (1) of the
compressor over the bat with the
clamps facing to the front of the
machine.

Place the upper clamps (2) of the
compressor over the round center bar
with the clamps facing the back of the
machine.

Slowly tighten the bat compressor tool
to remove the bat spring pressure.
15.
Use a bar to work the lodged rock
from the bat.

Continue to tighten the bat
compressor tool to release spring
pressure as needed.
16.
Remove the lodged rock from the
apron area.
