The Emergency Breakaway Braking
System
Accumulators
contain
high
pressure hydraulic fluid which may
cause serious injury.

accumulators before performing
any maintenance on the hydraulic
system.
If the rockpicker should disconnect from the
tractor while transporting or picking rocks, the
chain (3) on the breakaway will pull against
the spring loaded valve actuation lever (1).
When the lever passes a certain point a pin
(2) will lock the actuator open. This will
release the pressure from the accumulators
to activate the rockpicker brakes.
The spring pin on the chain will then
disconnect from the actuator as the tractor
moves away from the rockpicker.
To Reset the Breakaway Braking System
1. Reconnect the rockpicker to the tractor.
2. Reconnect the safety chain to the tractor.
3. Hold the actuation lever (1) and pull the
pin (2) from the lever.
4. Slowly allow the springs to move the lever
back.
5. Reinstall the spring pin/chain (3) onto the
actuation lever.
