Section 4 - Operating the Rockpicker
Dumping the Rocks
Do not transport the rockpicker on
public roadways with rocks in the
bucket.
Rocks may fall out of the bucket
resulting in an accident.
Stand clear when the bucket is
being raised or lowered.
A raised bucket can fall causing
serious injury or death.
Do not work under a loaded
bucket. Install the bucket lift
cylinder locks before doing any
work under a raised bucket.
Do not disconnect the hitch when
the bucket is lifted. There is an
upending hazard at the hitch when
the bucket is lifted.
Unloading the Rock Bucket
1. Turn off the rock reel.
2. Back the rockpicker onto level ground
near the desired dumping location.
3. Extend the bucket dump cylinders until
the apron is resting on the ground.
4. Continue to extend the bucket dump
cylinders until the bucket rises to the
dumping position and rotates.
5. When the rocks are completely dumped,
lower the bucket by retracting the
cylinders.
6. Continue retracting the cylinders to raise
the apron off the ground.
