screws should only be hand‐tight. Then tighten them diagonally in several
steps up to the specified torque.

Mounting with mounted force application
The U10M can also be ordered as an option with a mounted force application
bolt. The transducer can then measure axial forces in both the tensile
and
pressure directions. Alternating loads are also correctly recorded if the trans
ducer is mounted without axial play. For dynamic sustained loads, the upper
and lower threaded connectors must be pre‐stressed to above the maximum
load with locknuts. This can be achieved using a suitable torque for nominal
(rated) forces up to 25 kN. Please use the torques in the table on Page 17.
Alternatively, and for higher nominal (rated) forces, pre‐stressing can be
implemented by applying a force and then tightening the locknut, as is the
when mounting with a central internal thread.
Procedure
Screw on the locknut.
Screw on the force application part up to the retainer on the force
application bolt.
Unscrew force application part two revolutions.
Load the force transducer to 120% operating force (note limit forces).
Hand‐tighten locknut.
Relieve the load on the transducer.
